We have participated in the Present and Future in the territory of the Cessetania Conference on Work and Professional Qualification, which has put on the table the importance of vocational training and professional qualification in the generation of quality jobs and in the competitiveness of companies in a context of structural changes in the vocational training system, as well as the opportunities of the territories of the Cessetania in this context.
Ángel Tarriño, coordinator of the Observatory of the Foundation, has been able to sustain the importance of the Sectoral Councils and municipal councils of VET to promote VET in the territory of Camp de Tarragona.
On November 6 we participated in the presentation of the 2024 Education Award at the Cercle d’Economia. It included a conference by Joao Costa, Minister of Education of Portugal. Education and its basic pillars were valued; success in accordance with society, inclusion and citizenship. The award includes the category of vocational training.

On October 31, at the Barcelona Activa Convent, we attended the regular meeting of the Youth Employment Table of the Barcelona Agreement for Quality Employment 2021-2030. The aim of the meeting was to discuss how to continue the work of the TOJ with the new municipal mandate, to see the development of the working groups in progress, as well as to present the schedule and work plan for the coming months for the preparation of the new 2024-2030 Youth Employment Promotion Plan.
As members of the VET Council of Barcelona, with the associative vice-presidency, and together with the Xarxa FP, also members of the Council, on October 30 we attended the Extraordinary Plenary with the vice-presidencies of the councilor Raquel Gil and the councilor Lluís Rabell. The plenary approved the conclusions of the working groups of Educational Planning and Guidance; as well as knowing first-hand from the Department of Education the novelties in the deployment of the new VET regulations.
The meeting was held at the Convent of St. Agustí in Barcelona Activa.
On October 26, we took part in the Conference on Dual VET held at the VET Institute Antoni Algueró. The meeting was organized by the economic promotion area of the City Council with the objective of publicizing and promoting dual training in the territory. The Education Department explained the role of prospectors in the territory, as support for centers and companies; the role of the City Council’s area of economic promotion, and the experiences of companies and the same institute that hosted the conference.
At the end it was possible to network between the participants.
At the Presentation Day of Results of the European Erasmus + Logistics VET Hub Project of October 26th, the advances and good practices in the logistics Vocational Training (VET) in Europe were highlighted. Several experts presented results, sharing vital information about the future of the VET in the logistics sector. The event culminated in a question-and-answer session and the closing by the CEO of Barcelona Activa.
The new call for the VET Innovation project for the 2023-2024 year will be published at the beginning of November. The project aims to reward centers that contribute to create innovative educational projects that promote quality and innovation within the VET. There are already 12 editions in which more than 700 projects have participated with more than 5000 students.
