Municipal representatives from across the territory met last Thursday, April 16, at the Fira de Girona a working session of the Forum of Cities with Vocational Training Councils, a network that is consolidating itself as a space for shared knowledge, analysis, and expertise in Vocational Education and Training at the municipal level.

The meeting made it possible to advance coordination among municipalities, share criteria and experiences, and strengthen the role of local VET councils as key instruments to influence the planning of training provision from a territorial perspective. In this context, the incorporation of Vilafranca del Penedès as a new member municipality of the Forum was also formalized.

During the session, organizational aspects of the Forum were addressed and proposals were discussed to improve its dissemination and visibility, with the aim of strengthening its position as a reference space in the field of VET governance and networking among local administrations.

The Forum of Cities with VET Councils thus becomes a strategic instrument for generating collective knowledge, promoting territorial alignment, and contributing to a Vocational Education and Training system better adapted to the country’s social and productive needs.
